Do you need a business license to work from home to do manicures and pedicures?

I want to go back to school so I can became a license Manicurist. But once i am finished I would like to work from. Would i need a business license to do that or not?Do you need a business license to work from home to do manicures and pedicures?
What state and county are you? Home-based business license requirements are dependent on your state of residence. It matters too, at the county level. Some states would require that you get a business license, others may require that you get a license after earning a certain amount.
