Go to walmart and buy the set.
tape and white nail palish
Go to wal-mart and theres a french manicure set in the beauty section!

Or just go to any store and you can find the little packages!
use tape to make the line straight, by white tip nail polish and nail enamel
You can cut Post-It's and use those to stick across your nails to control where you paint the tips with white (or whatever color), let the polish dry, then remove them and then paint the whole nail pink (or whatever color).
The one I like to do is really pretty. I use plain white %26amp; iridescent (that shiny metallic-y blue %26amp; purple color) nail polish. Paint the white over the natural white tips of your nails, let dry %26amp; then paint a coat or two of the Iridescent over the entire nail %26amp; then let that dry. Voila...pretty nails! If you dont want the iridescent then go for a sheer pink or sheer nude color.

If it's just polish, use regular remover.

If they are acrylic nails, you might want to get some salon strenght acetone (fingernail polish remover) and soak them for a few minutes. After you get them off, you will probably need a buffer to smooth down your nail.

How can I do my nails at home to make it look like I got a manicure?

I love painting my nails.. but I always seem to get at least a few of those air bubbles in my nail polish. I try to wait until my nails are dry, but I always manage to get at least a few bubbles. How long should I be waiting in between coats for my nails dry? Also, are there any other tips on how to get that perfect manicured look? I hate paying for my nails to be done, because I have gotten them to look really great before and gotten many compliments. I'm just looking for any tips on how to ensure they always look that way. Thanks. How can I do my nails at home to make it look like I got a manicure?
    okay first:

wipe off your nails with nail polish remover eben if you have none on it gets rid of oils and the nail polish will stick better

apply a THIN coat of clear nail polish to your nail as a base.

take the color of your choice and apply one THIN layer of it to each nail

(thin layers are key in bubble free nail polish)

wait 5 min and apply another thin coat. and then repeat a third time always using thin coats.

i always go three times because it seems to hold up better.

wait another 5 min and then take your clear coat and apply it over top of your nail color to finish.

the best way to dry your nails is in ice water as cold as you can stand and leave them in there for 5-10min theyll be shiny and chip free.

**try using essie nail polish it can be pricy but its worth it its really high quality.

hope this helps! How can I do my nails at home to make it look like I got a manicure?
For one you should get a really good brand of nail polish if you are painting your nails at home, like O.P.I. Then it would be best to have someone else do your nails for you. It becomes way better and you do not have to do anything, just watch and learn! Maybe make a deal with someone, like if you paint my nails then I will Paint your. Also you should try and get the clear nail strengthening nail polish to put on the top of the color, it works! Good luck!
well always make sure all polished is removed before applying new,

don't just keep applying the same color for weeks at a time unless its clear nailpolish touch ups which blend.

then soak your fingers in a solution of water and olive oil at a warm, comfortable temperature. this will help soften up your cuticles to push them back or remove, i find that this can work better than removal cream.

then after cuticles are set hands are re-washed and dried,

you can begin your nail cutting and trimming.

try not to over cut, because remember that when you file them they will go down in size also. so probably do about 1/2 the trim on your nails that you want if you are going to file.

then you can file them into the natural shape that they form whether its longer than the finger or not.

I don't even do french manicures, because they are hard to make look really really good that aren't professionally done.

if you just keep your fingers clean and your nails underneath so that they are the proper pinks, browns, beige colors and the tips white then it should look fine.

paint it 2 coats of clear and it will look professional!

A french manicure is a 2 color (pink and white) nail with the tip being white mostly on the free edge growing out from the nail. It can be painted on that way, there are many ';French manicure kits'; designed just for that. The best French Manicure is getting pink and white acrylics applied. CND and Tammy Taylor have the best acrylics in my opinion. Once the P%26amp;W's have been applied, they should be buffed to a high gloss finish. What is freanch manicure? can i do it at home ? if yes, then please tell me the procedure.? Please show pictur

Ooh La La ... Do It Yourself French Manicure

Want professional looking nails without spending your day’s pay in the salon? With some practice and a little patience, you can enjoy fancy nails anytime you want for only the cost of your nail polish!

Their pale pink base and bright white tips characterize the ever-popular French manicures, which are a common request at nail salons everywhere. Professional nail stylists may paint your nails alone or they may apply fake tips if you desire. Based on your personal preferences, a nail designer will give your nails a strengthening and conditioning workout prior to painting them. If you get your nails done with fake tips, you may have to make a trip back to the salon to get your French tips “refilled” when your nails have grown noticeably.

Keeping longer, healthy nails will be most conducive to sporting a French manicure. To complete your own French manicure, begin with the following steps to prepare your nails for the procedure.

·Using a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover, wipe off any old nail polish prior to painting nails. Wash hands and soak in warm water for a few moments.

·With an orangewood stick, gently push back the cuticles so they are all even with each other once the water has softened your skin.

·With nail clippers, beauty scissors or a nail file, shape your nails evenly.

·With a steady hand, carefully paint only the tip of each nail with a white hue. A second coat may be desirable, depending on the thickness and opaqueness of the polish. Allow polish to dry between coats.

·Using a slightly transparent pink or nude color, paint the entire nail once the tips have dried. A second coat may be necessary. Allow nails to dry thoroughly.

·Once all the coats have dried, apply a clear topcoat to protect your new French manicure. To lengthen the manicure’s lifespan, make an effort to paint a clear coat on each night. Be sure it has ample time to dry completely.

·If you are feeling especially creative and ambitious, kick off your shoes and match your tootsies to your fingertips!

This procedure is best performed on a lazy morning or evening when no other pressing errands or tasks will get in the way. After painting your nails, avoid doing things with your hands while they dry.

For an easier painting technique, check the beauty section of a drug store or superstore for a French manicure kit. The set should contain, at the very least, nail polish in white and pink or beige and a clear topcoat. Some manicure sets - like COVER Girl’s French Manicure Kit – will contain tiny, sticky nail guides. These make the manicure process 100 times easier by allowing you to place the guides on each nail individually, leaving a small margin where the polish can spill outside the tip without tainting the rest of the nail.

As the holidays approach, let your crazy side out by concocting a wildly modified French manicure - green and white for St. Patrick’s Day, pastel shades for Easter, black and orange for Halloween and red and green for Christmas. Have fun and remember, even if you find the do-it-yourself French manicure difficult at first, practice will provide you with the skills you need to create beautiful and perfect manicures all year long!
I don't have a pic, but it's where you paint your nails a light pink or nude color and then paint the tips white. It can be difficult at first, but practice makes perfect...or you could just get a kit from the drug store.
Same as an American one, but snootier.

    I couldn't resist! :)
yes you can do a french manicure at home . french manicure kits are easily available in the market in which there will be a booklet that gives instructions as to how to do it.

easiest way to make a ';smile line'; is to take a piece of cardboard and cut a diamond pattern, then when you stick your fingernail through it, and run the white color polish it will not go onto your fingers, just onto your nail. It just will take some time painting each fingernail. When i use nail stencils at home for a french manicure and i take of the stencils.......?
Why use the stencils when you can do it the easy way.

just paint the white on the tips, it doesnt have to be perfect.

then take a Qtip and dip it in polish remover, then go and shape the white line.

    works great for me

and the stencils sometimes bleed through underneath.
Sometimes stencils can be too sticky. It's very irritating i agree lol. 100% Acetone will usually do the trick :)
use sellotape - honestly! wrap it around the figer tip, paint, then leave it to dry

First--make sure you are not violating any laws. The most I believe you can do is paint their nails. If you're sure you can file go for it, but make sure you have a new, clean file for each person. File one direction, don't just saw willy-nilly, that can cause tearing.

    1. First, remove all old polish from your nails with nail polish remover. Do this even if you don't have any nail polish on to! It cleans the nail!

    2. Soak your hands and/or feet in warm water for 5 minutes. It will soften your skin and nails.

3.While your skin is damp, use a pumice stone or scrub to get rid of rough skin.

    4. Massage in some moisturizer to soften even more!

    5. File nails in pretty shape

    6. clean any extra stuff on your nails with nail polish remover

    7. Apply a clear basecoat and leave it for 3 minutes. Then apply the color you want on your nails, and let dry for 5 minutes. After put a clear base coat again, for 3 minutes.

    8. Clean-up any mistakes with remover

    9.HAVE FUN WITH IT

Tips [edit]You can do this anywhere! At your friends house, etc.

You don't have to do this with both a manicure and pedicure. One or both is okay.

People WILL complement you if you put them in attention

Even quick-dry polish takes at least 15 minutes to dry. So, dunk your nails into a bowl or sink of cold water, it will set it quicker. (good if in a hurry)

Warnings [edit]Don't rush this manicure and pedicure! it will make you stressed more! Also it will get ruined!!Lol

how can i make the white line of the french manicure straight when I do it myself?Home made french manicure?
Paint the naturally white tip of the nail with an opaque white or beige polish. In traditional French manicures, this white strip is straight across the nail, however, if you let the polish curve with your natural nail, your nails will appear longer.

Peel off a guide strip and affix it below the tip of a nail, following its natural curve. The guide will allow you to paint an even white tip with ease and precision.

Decide where to place the guide strips based on the length of your nails. In general, the longer the nail, the longer the white tip should be. Make sure that the arch of the guide is smooth and rounded and that the tip lengths are all relatively consistent.

Paint each nail tip white, extending the brush stroke from the top of the guide to the end of the nail. Take care not to get any white polish on the body of the nail below the guide. Let the tips dry.

Remove all the guides. Dissolve leftover adhesive by rubbing it gently with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

What are the steps to giving yourself a manicure at home? Any advice to getting pretty, well-groomed nails?

Like, I want nice looking nails and hands, but please, don't even mention about going to the nail salon. I don't want to waste money. Person who gives the best, detailed, and most helpful and effective answer will be given 10 points! Thanks for all answers! What are the steps to giving yourself a manicure at home? Any advice to getting pretty, well-groomed nails?
I'm a qualified beautician and I do a manicure on myself every week, this is what I do:

    * File nails into desired shape

    * Massage cuticle cream or vaseline into cuticles

    * Soak hands in warm soapy water for about 5 mins, I sometimes rub an exfoliant into my hands at this stage.

    * Rinse and dry hands and push back cuticles using either an orange stick or cotton bud.

    * Massage hands and nails with a hand cream.

    * At this stage you can either leave your nails as they are or go over your nails with a nail polish remover to remove excess cream and then paint them as required. I don't tend to wear coloured nail varish but I usually put a coat of clear on at this stage to help protect my nails. What are the steps to giving yourself a manicure at home? 1. File! File your nails in a nice rounded shape.

    2. Soak! Soak your hands in soap and water.

    3. Trim! Trim your cuticles.

    4. Moisturize! Massage your hard-working hands.

    5. Apply! Apply a clear coat to your nails.

    6. Apply! Apply a nail polish of your choice.

    6. Re-apply! Put another coat on your nails.

    7. Apply again! Put a clear coat on your nails.

    8. Let it dry!!!!!!!!!

Moisturize your hands to get them looking nice and healthy. File your nails into a nice round shape. You can buy from superdrug a cheap nail file with 4 sides : Shape, smooth, buff and shine. They are really good! Get a good make of a manicure kit, which includes a white, natural pink and clear nail varnish and tip stencils. Here is the order of what you should do:

    1) Apply a coat of natural pink and wait for it to dry.

    2) Apply a second coat of natural pin and wait for it to dry.

    3) Apply a coat of clear and wait for it to dry.

    4) Put a tip stencil of each of you fingers on 1 hand and apply a THIN coat of white to tips - wait for them to dry.

    5) Apply another coat of white and wait for them to dry.

    6) Repeat for other hand.

    7) Apply a coat of clear varnish.

    8) Apply another coat of clear varnish

TIP: Make sure that the nail varnish is COMPLETELY dry because if it is not and you put on the tip stencils (which are sticky) they will just peel of the nail varnish underneath.

TIP: You can blow them dry

Use a hairdryer on 'cool' setting

Put your hands in cold water for a few minutes.

get the same stuff, and do it yourself.
With a bottle of white out and a steady hand!
go to a local store that u no will have nail plosh stuff then buy a kit and just do it ur self or get a best friend to help u that u trust lol
Go to your local Walgreens and ask the cosmetics beauty advisor for a french manicure kit. Its as easy as 3 steps. I also have he kit. It works wonders girl!
you need clear coat polish, a light pink, and white,, you can also buy they set of polishes for french manicure.. You start by filing nails in shape you want (squared is popular) brush on clear- let dry.. then where your nail is frown out you can see like a line close to the nail bed , you paint the actual nail tip from that point the white (you can buy french manicure nail strips to make line straight) Let that dry then paint nails the very light pink.. and you are done
all you need is white and pink clear nailpolish and on the white part of your nail put on the white and on the other part of the nail put the pink tinted clear or you can but a cheap kit at a drug store or ant beauty store
    You dont.
also try AVON for the special kits . They have Beautiful collors.
    steps to be carried out:

    1. first layer transparent nail polish.

1.Remove any old nail polish with nail polish remover. Pour some remover onto a ball of cotton wool and put it on your nails for a moment. The nail polish can then be removed with a few strokes.

    2. Shape your nails with a nail file. File in one direction only, moving from corners to centre.

    3. Wash your hands and apply hand lotion.

    4. Rub some cuticle cream onto your nails and cuticles, gently pushing back the cuticles with a cotton bud or cotton-tipped orange stick. Wipe off any excess cream, so the polish holds more effectively.

    5. If your nails are weak or brittle, apply a coat of nail strengthener. If you have strong nails, prime with a base coat. This will protect them and make the coloured polish last longer.

6.Once the base coat is dry, apply one or two coats of coloured nail polish.

    7. Finally, apply a thin coat of top coat and instant drier and your manicure is ready.

I do my owne nails at home. for a good manicure remove polish from nails and wash them. when they are dry start to file them. for my owne i file so that my nails are square not round, this way they dont break as much. after filing them i put on a base coat, which is a hardner, then my main color 2 times, them hardner again. let dry completely before putting on second and third coats. another tip for keeping ur nails long is to learn to pick up things with ur finger tips not ur nails.

How to do a French Manicure at home?

I really like having a french manicure; however, nail polish always seems to rub off at the tips of my nails. They never seem to last more than a day. With solid colors, I can add another coat to the tip, making them last longer, but white tips are not easily re-coated. How can I make a home done french tip last longer?

Please note: I do not want fake nails. I want to paint my real nails. I also cannot afford to get them professionally done.

I currently use the Sally's French Manicure Kit. Is there a better one to use? I like the thin tip of the whites in the Sally kit. I always add a top clear layer or two.How to do a French Manicure at home?
I just put on a coat of protector so they don't get yellow, paint white on the outer? half of my nail and use a thick paintbrush with polish remover to get rid of the excess white polish, like they do in salons. Then one or two coats of clear top coat. I don't like the peachy stuff they put on top of the white because I think it makes the tips look yellowed, but it's up to you. With a little practice it can be done in like 10, 15 minutes. Also, if you put another coat of clear polish on every couple of days, it helps.

How can i do manicure at home?

    French Manicure

    STEP 1

It's essential to prepare your hands and nails before applying nail polish. First, exfoliate your hands by massaging them using a small amount of body scrub. Rinse with water and dry thoroughly. One of the main causes of chapped hands is not drying them properly after washing.

    STEP 2

File your nails. If they are brittle or tend to split, keep them flat across the top with smooth, rounded edges. When filing, move in one direction, from outer corner to centre-sawing movements can damage the nail plate. Choose a nail file with a fine surface that glides over the nail.

    STEP 3

Coat hands in a layer of sweet almond oil, to norish and soften, then wrap in a warm towel and relax for 15 minutes. Unwrap, and gently push back cuticles using a rubber hoof stick (available from most chemists). Never use cuticle clippers, as they can nick the skin. Rinse hands with warm water and dry thoroughly to remove any oil residue.

    STEP 4

Apply one coat of base coat over your entire nail and allow a couple of minutes to dry. This will help strengthen the nail. Some products also level fine ridges and imperfections, leaving a smooth surface to apply polish. There's a wide range of base coats to choose from.

    STEP 5

For a square look, paint a straight line across the tips; for a rounded appearance, follow the curve of the nail; and to get a pointed style, paint in from each side to the centre. Some manicure kits include sticky strips to use as a guide. when applying, lay your hand on a flat surface and keep the ball of your painting hand steady and keep the ball of your painting hand steady by resting it on the same surface. Leave to dry.

    STEP 6

Finally, apply a coat of translucent shell-pink polish over the entire nail to seal the whitened tip and complete the look. Allow 10 minutes for it to dry. For extra shine and protection, apply a clear, glossy top coat. How can i do manicure at home?

Im assuming you know the colors and everything to use, but you want to know how to get that white line perfectly straight. Cut up really thin strips of paper long enuff to wrap around your finger. Then wrap them around so that the edge of the paper will be where your nails meets the white tip of your nail. Keep your hands and fingers on some flat surface so that the paper stays put. And then paint that tip in long strokes from side to side (not up and down). Or you can buy a french manikure kit and they have little white stickers included. I do it at home without the strips though, i just practiced alot and know it looks perfect :) Good luckHow to french manicure at home?

hands n feets r dull. How to do manicure n padicure at home?
Google manicure and pedicure... you're bound to find alot of information. I did!How to do manicure n padicure at home?
First, you need to know that it is ';pedicure';, not ';padicure'; and the plural for ';foot'; if ';feet';, not ';feets';. I hope you're beautiful...
How to do a manicure / pedicure:

If you wear nail polish remove it.

Wash your hands and feet and clean out all the grime underneath your nails using a nail brush or by scratching a bar of soap with your nails and working it out.

Apply cream to your hands, feet, nails, and cuticles to moisturize them. (This will make it easier to work with your cuticles and reduce cracking and splitting of both nails and skin.)

Make sure all of your equipment is sterile (otherwise you may actually introduce more germs to the area). I soak mine in alcohol or at least rub them down with alcohol.

Clip your nails using a nail clipper (not scissors) to their desired length and shape. Make sure you don't cut them back too short because it can be painful and even expose delicate layers of skin which could actually cause infection. Also be careful not to trim back the corners too much or you could end up with an ingrown nail. Your best bet is to cut them straight across (you can round the edges when you file).

Using a nail file or emery board, file your nails into their desired shape and get rid of rough edges. (Make sure you move your file in one direction. Going back and forth could create tiny splits your nails.)

Now it's time to take care of those cuticles. If they're really tough, you may need to soak them for awhile to soften them up (bring out the foot spa) and reapply the moisturizer.

If you have any cuticles with hang nails, pieces of dead hanging skin around your nail (which most people end up ripping off and creating painful, bleeding tears), cut them off making sure that you don't actually cut into living skin (just go for the dried up dead stuff). Some people use a specially designed cuticle cutter, but I just use my nail clippers.

Next you need to push your cuticles back, which will help reduce hang nails in the future. Some people use their fingers to push them back while others use store-bought cuticle sticks. Just remember that whatever you use, it shouldn't be sharp because sharp objects could cut your cuticles (creating yet another place for infection) and can scratch your nails (which is just more unsightly than anything else).

While you're at it, you may want to use a pumice stone to get rid of any unwanted calluses or ultra rough patches of skin (especially on your feet).

If you want a nice, soft gloss to your nails, buff them. Wipe off any excess moisturizer (and dry thoroughly if you soaked your cuticles), get out your buffer, and buff the top of your nails in one direction, but don't do it more than a couple times a week because each time you buff your nails, they get thinner, and you don't want thin brittle nails.

If you want to polish your nails, go for it. (Since I'm not focusing on the cosmetic aspect manicures and pedicures, I won't get into the details of the perfect nail polishing technique.)

How do you do a french manicure at home.. without acrylics?

I've done it and it came out pretty nice. I was surprised. I didn't use forms or guides either. I purchased the appropriate polishes for the job... there are ';kits'; that come with the tip color and the base color, and I think instructions. Some come with guides you can use, but for me those were clumsy. After applying the clear base coat and letting that dry, I just used my brush to carefully apply the white. When I had to use the non-dominant hand to apply, I think I more moved my fingers than the brush, or maybe a little combination of the two. The guides can be fine if you have the patience to apply them. Then you have an easy line to follow. Then you apply the top coat provided, probably 2 coats of that. Then you clear top coat. It's kind of work intensive, but fun.How do you do a french manicure at home.. without acrylics?

How to do manicure for hands and legs at home? Anybody could answer?

Start off with clean nails. Use an old toothbrush and good old-fashioned soap to scrub the nails and use an orange stick to clean any dirt or debris from underneath the fingernail. A good orange stick is important and the best kind to get are the ones with a point on one end and flat on the other.

Get your hands ready. Soak your hands in warm water or milk for 5 minutes to get the cuticles nice and soft. Your whole hand doesn't need to be in the bowl, just your nails.

Remove your nails from the water or milk and dry them off. Rub your hands with a rich moisturizer.

Use a strengthening nail polish remover to get every bit of polish off your nails. Make sure you get the polish on the sides and edges with a Q-tip.

Trim your nails. Try to trim them evenly so they are all the same length. If your nails are short or you want to grow them out, just file them.

File your nails. File them so the edges on them are smooth and round. Don't be too rough; you don't want to break your nails or cause nail bruises (the little white dots you get on your nails when you injure them). But go in one smooth direction. Don't go back and forth. It defeats the purpose of filing.

Shaped nails look so much better than scraggly ones with different lengths.Shape nails. If nails are different lengths, start by trimming them all to the length of the shortest nail. This will make your hands look nice, nails of the same length looks better than nails of different lengths! Sometimes toenail clippers do a better job since they cut a straight line and not the curved cut you get from fingernail clippers. Cut each nail straight across and then take the tiniest clip on the edges, just enough to remove the point but not enough to cut down into the side of the nail. Cutting and filing the sides of the nail will make them weak and prone to splitting. Once all nails are trimmed and the same length, take an emery board and smooth out all the edges. Move in one direction.Don't go back and forth. It defeats the purpose of filing.

Wash off nails again, this will remove all debris from filing. After they are washed, dry them well and get ready to apply the first layer of polish. Some people are allergic to nail polish, and the place the allergy will show up first is around the eyelids. This is due to the formaldahyde in the polish. Clinique is a brand that excludes this ingredient. There are others available; check on the Internet.

Fix your cuticles. Rub some cuticle oil in to heal them. Push them back with cuticle stick. A good rule is to use a cuticle oil or cream between manicures to assure they never get into bad shape. Perhaps keep it by your bedside or by the TV and massage the cuticles once a day if you can. Kiehl's cuticle treatment is a good one. In order to start with cleaning cuticles, get a good cuticle remover. OPI sells a great cuticle exfoliating cream but you can find cuticle remover at any drugstore. Follow directions and massage in and use flat end of orange stick to push back cuticles and remove dead skin. After this step is complete, wash fingernails again using soap and the toothbrush.

Buff your nails. Try to get a nail buffer with two sides, one for filing the ridges off your nails, and one for shining your nails.

Apply a clear basecoat. Use three strokes only. This is important to avoid streaks and lumps. Dip your brush in and move the coat first down the center of the nail and then on the right and left sides. Don't go back and touch up. It will only make a mess. If you do make a mess, use nail polish remover to start over. Always apply two base coats, as it fills in the ridges and makes the polish look nicer and last longer. Be patient and wait several minutes for the base coat to dry before applying polish.

Apply the polish using the same technique, one stroke down the center and then left and right. You will also need two coats and make sure to let nails dry to the touch between coats. After color is applied and is dry to the touch, apply one more layer of topcoat.

As needed, apply the clear top coat to help you to make the manicure last longer. Perhaps touch up the top edges of the nail as the polish wears off and then add an entire topcoat. Remember to use the cuticle cream daily and next time you do a manicure; you will have less dead skin to remove.

Store nail polish in the refrigerator for long term storage. If you have a favorite color, buy several bottles and keep them for future use.

Get a small train case or toolbox to keep your manicure and pedicure supplies. Make sure that if anything spills it will be safe. Keep tops on all bottles tight.

For a classic look, use a sheer pink on your hands and a red on your toenails, especially in the summer.

Check out your local beauty supply houses, like Sally's. You can buy emery boards and many manicure supplies in bulk for half the price as drugstores.

When gardening or doing yard work, wear gloves.

If you have a split nail, clean off o

Fill a large metal basin with very warm water adding a capful of your favourite cleanser or bubble bath. You can also add 5-6 drops of essential oil (diluted in a couple of teaspoonfuls of vegetable oil, honey, or cider vinegar). Try camomile, which helps ease aches and pains or rosemary which promotes circulation. Then, soak your feet or hands in the basin for 20 minutes. Remove and pat dry.

You can try a sea salt rub ( infused with essentail oils) to exfoliate, rinse, leaving some essentail oils to soak in. wrap hands or feet in a warm towel and rest 5 minutes.

    and then

File and buff fingernails. For feet, exfoliate by using a pumice stone to slough off any rough skin. Cut toenails (straight across to prevent ingrown toenails) and file with an emery board.

Ease into cuticle care by applying good old olive oil to soften cuticles. Be gentle when pushing cuticles back 鈥?the skin is very tender. And don鈥檛 cut your cuticles!

To moisturize and lock in softness 鈥?massage a good, thick moisturizing cream onto feet and/or hands, wrap with saran wrap and put on some socks and/or mitts to seal in the benefits (the warmth created from insulating your hands and feet helps to penetrate the moisture deep into your skin). DIY French Manicure at home ?

To those of you who do your own French Manicure at home, do you use the tip guides that come with the kit or do you paint on the white tips without them?

I am finding myself making more of a mess with the tip guidesDIY French Manicure at home ?
Go to youtube they have a lot of how to Video.DIY French Manicure at home ?
I do all my nails myself.

The only thing really is that you need really steady hands.

Or if your nails are square tipped you could put sellotape at the top of them then just paint over it and it'll give you white tips. :)

good luck. I love manicured nails :)
You really need to have a french manicure done by a nail tech. I tried the tip guides and it was a mess. It's also very hard to do it free hand by yourself. You might want to try having a friend do it.But I'd really recommend a manicurist.
i get little stickers and cut them into the shape of the top of my nails, so the only part you can see is the part you paint white. x
Sounds daft but it DOES work.

Put sellotape round all your nails and just leave the tips uncovered.

Wrap the tape right round your fingers.

    Paint the tips.

    Leave till totally dry

    Take the tape off
You can get professional manicure kits from boots, superdrug or tesco and manicure guides!
    WITHOUT THE GUARD

when you paint the tips lay your painting hands pinky flat on the table... once a manicurist taught me that it's been an ease!
it used to make a mess wid me aswell use a toth pick to fine it out beforee it drys and that should work good luck x
i usually just paint on the white tips without the tip guides, then just use a toothpick to get off the excess stuff....
    just paint nails

How do you do a french manicure by yourself at home?

When I was 13 I used regular scotch tape to do the white tip, now you can find special Kits at Walmart to do it but now at 30 I'm a pro and actually do it without any tape or stickers. I do suggest that you put on a THIN coat of white, wait till it dries completely then ad another coat of THIN white. If it's too thick it can peel off easy and if you don't wait till it completely dries then the second coat can smudge the first coat and it will look like a mess. Be patient and it will come out beautiful. Good luck! How do you do a french manicure by yourself at home?
Walgreens drug stores sell kits with tip guides that work great and are easy to use and look just like u went to da salon. Da brand name is Broadway and they keep them with the manicure tools section. Barely Buff is the best shade, the french pink comes out too pink. It costs about $2.99.How do you do a french manicure by yourself at home?
The best way is to buy a french manicure kit which turns out well.

Very clean afterwards:) Go to Target or Walgreens for this product.
If you go to a store that sells nail polish, next to the nail art they have ';stickers'; that you can place on your nail so that your line comes out evenly. Try that and hopefully it will work.
    File your nails first

Put on a clear base coat

Put on a two coats of pale pink

    Paint the tips white

Put a top coat of clear nail polish to seal in the manicure and keeps it from chipping.
Sally Henson has a really nice DIY yourself kit that you can buy at almost any drug store. I have used it a few times on my toes and it turned out really nicely.
All manicures are the same. We put the word 'French' in there to sell it as something more than it is. Somethoing real fancy.

Just clip nails, file down, buff them and if there is any dis-coloration, use an opaque nail hardener.Push cuticals back. That's it.
get a salley hansen home french manicure set, wal mart or any discount store, they are pretty decent. But it takes practice, especially if you do it on yourself
Go and get the Sally Hansen French Manicure kit. It has the stickers, polish and overcoat. Make sure you pick up a good clear as well. Go step by step and it will all be fine.

Take a small eyeshadow brush and cut it into a roundish shape, then remove most of the bristles with scissors. You kind of want to cut the edge bristles off and just leave some sticking up in the middle.

Then, paint a white tip on the end of each nail, it doesn't matter if this is rough.

Dip the brush in some remove/acetone and starting at the base of the nail - push up towards the tip. This will remove the paint - and you're lookign to leave a small half moon shape on the tip of each nail.

This is the easiest way to do it.How do you do a french manicure at home.. without acrylics?

There is a whitening stick you can buy in the nail care isle and you use that on the underneath side of the tips of your nails. You then polish your nails with clear polish...or with a polish with a slight pink tint to it.
Apply a clear base coat. After that is dry, paint just the tips of your nails a white or pinkish white (whatever you prefer). This part can be tricky, so take your time. After that is dry, paint a clear topcoat over your entire nail. Give them plenty of time to dry. Good Luck!
It takes practice. Work on you toenails first. Take white nail polish and paint it around the end of your nails. It will be hard at first, but you will get better at it the more you practice. Then go over it once or twice with clear nail polish. It's not hard. I'm 10 and I do it great.
Go to your nearest grocery store, there are normaly in the nail section a french manicure kit for aroudn 6 dollers. It comes with everything you need to do your nails yourself. It is actually really easy i do it all the time.

    good luck!
You need white polish, and either a nude or pink sheer and a clear top coat.

First clean your nails and shape them.

Use the white polish to follow the natural white tips of your own nails. Let it dry throughly.

Apply 2 coats of the pink or nude..allow to dry.

    Follow with the clear.

Takes practice..but you can do it!
First you need a base coat clear polish, a top coat clear polish or tinted pink if you prefer that look and a white nail polish. What I do is i take scotch tape and place it on my finger where i want the base white line to start and go up and over after applying the base coat. Then I do all my fingers with the tape the same way and then let dry for about an hour and then top coat to finish them off.

Try using a old paint brush not to big med like 1/2 inch wife and dippin it in nail polish remover to remove any extra white polish and to make the line even. Let the white dry a min then add the clear or pink tint polish.
You know where the white part of your finger is? The top of your nail. cover the rest of your finger nail with a piece of tape and paint the top of the tape which is the white part of your fingernail
    1. Make sure your nails are clean, trimmed and shaped how you want them. Make sure to trim off cuticles and hang nails with SHARP cuticle trimmers. Your regular nail cutter will not do the trick.

    2. Many drug stores will sell stencils that help you get the white part on straight. I use them for mine and they turn out nicely.

    3. Make sure you do all the application steps. Don't put on a thick layer of nail polish since that's just going to look bad. 2-3 thin coats work best for a smooth, shiny finish. Make sure to put on the clear base and top coats! This will protect your nail and keep the manicure looking nice for longer.

    4. Don't do it when you're in a rush. It is time consuming work. I do my nails once a week when I have the time to do them.

    5. Practice, practice, practice!
Try using the french manicure pen, it's easier to use than the normal nail polish brush. They also have French manicure strips that you can put on your nails, which help guide where you put the coat.
Trial and Error. Keep trying and you'll eventually get it. You just need steady hands for that. Doing it alone just takes practice.
The only answer i have is keep trying i was in the same situation as you are in but now i can do it well.

What state and county are you? Home-based business license requirements are dependent on your state of residence. It matters too, at the county level. Some states would require that you get a business license, others may require that you get a license after earning a certain amount.

I want to try french manicure by myself at home but i don't have a guide to do straight lines?

somebody got an idea how to make steady lines apart from the kit guide?some tip?I want to try french manicure by myself at home but i don't have a guide to do straight lines?
I got a french manicure done at a new salon a while ago and they just painted white on the ends on my nail without a guide. It was just applied to the end half of my nail. After the polish dried the lady took out a brush (looked a lot like a kid's paint brush or my eye shadow brushes at home) and dipped that into polish remover. She then ';erased'; the extra white off my nail until she got the tip part the right shape and size for my nail.

I tried this at home later, and was able to get it right without too much frustration. I used an eyeshadow brush with stiff bristles, but a Q-tip might work too. It required a steady hand, but not as steady as painting perfect tips without a guide would!

You could also try to make your own guides from masking tape.I want to try french manicure by myself at home but i don't have a guide to do straight lines?
Until I learned how to do it, I would use scotch tape. It will give you the straight line, but not stick to polish underneath.
you should try the sally hansen french manicure kit. It comes with guides and an easy pen applicator. I use it all the time for my toes.
Usually a guide is supplied with french manicure kit purchase. If a guide is not provided then I would use any nonadhesive flat edged surface such as a strip of paper.
    practice makes perfect !!

i can do it without the stickers, just try to keep ur hand steady, n dont go too slow !!
u can buy french manicure kits at Watson or Guardian Pharmacies. They r cheap and easy to use :) comes wif instructions and nail tapes too
If you don't want the kit you can use tape! Well just an idea...
Put tape acros your nail then paint above it for the white lines.
    This is what I do...

Paint a thin white line at your fingernail tip. Then with a small flat brush - use nail polish remover to straighten the line to your liking. Then finish with a clear topcoat.

You have to pratice so your hands do not shake and keep it as steady as you can.

I have friends that do nails for a living and that is how they do it. I never thought I would be able to but they turn out ok. Just be patient and practice.

    Good luck!!

Oh...try a twist to the classic french manicure and do colored tips - like red.
paper - like a business card.

    just bend it and paint.

it's what the girl who does mine uses all the time.

ooh, sorry , i don't think it will work doing it yourself unless you have 3 hands.
I find that doing it freehand over the white part of my nail was far easier and less messy. but I prefer having a pro do it at the salon.

What is a good tip on how to do french manicures at home?

I don't want to use the fake nail, so I wanted to know if there was an easy way to paint a french manicureWhat is a good tip on how to do french manicures at home?
There is a kit that has like a white pen that is really easy to use. It is called Sally Hansen. It is really easy and quick. Hope this helps! It even comes with guides to help you paint them on easier, but I think that they don't really help. You can get it at CVS or Walgreens or Walmart. What is a good tip on how to do french manicures at home?
Use a piece of tape and place it over the larger portion of the nail that you don't want white. Then pain white nail polish on the end of the nail. The tape should help keep a clean edge. When white nail polish is dry, remove tape and then paint the rest of your nail a pink or clear color.

How to paint french manicure at home???

i want to just use white nail polish to paint a french manicure on my fingernails. my nails are pretty long not short and bitten........ so any tips on how to do that? How to paint french manicure at home???
go to wall-mart and they have a kit that helps and works really wellHow to paint french manicure at home???
All you have to do is go to the store like Wal-Mart and they have a French Kit and it comes with white nail polish and a set of like french nail stickers and you put it as low as you want to and paint it on top of it that's all it is really simple if you want a different color you are going to have to buy it separately.
Here is what i usually do. 1) I went to Target and got a manicure set. It had just white and natural color paint. The only difference is the white paint had a small brush .

    2) My dad got me some Acetone (what they use at the salon) from Home Depot. I painted half my nail white then got a small brush, dipped it in the Acetone and made a neat line. Make sence? That's what the pros do.

    Good luck
ooh, i am soo good at this!

go along the natural ';smile line'; created by the white part of your natural nails.then if that is crooked or too short or something, touch it up. you should drag the brush across the nail to create the tip. make sure you dont have too much paint on your brush too.

when you go over it with a clear coat it looks 20x better too!
first file them smooth, than shape them eiither squared or curved edges

than paint them with light pink or clear and if you don't have a thin tip use a toothpick to pail the tips white or place ducktapecovering the nail but tips and paint the rest white

    hope i helped :)
It might not be easy to do yourself but the way my nail salon does it - paint on the white - more than you want - then take a special paint brush dipped in nail polish remover to remove/shape the white nail polish to look how you want.

    Good luck!
at the store they have little peel off half moons that you put below the part you want to paint and then you paint the part that is left over when the paint drys you peel off the half moon and you have perfect nails then apply tammy taylor a coat or a uv a coat and viola your done!

    great buy, great product!
peice of paper and cut it out to your nail shape and right where the light part of your nail meets the end of it cut that part odd and paint over it
get tape and put it close to the end of your nail and paint the end part with white nail polish then remove it and you have a french manicure.

then add a clear coat to make it shine..
Honestly I use regular wraping tape and tape off where I want the line of white and then paint, and remove tape after 2-3 min...

if you're just looking for the polish then try orly french manicure and for it to look ';perfect'; get the french guides(stickers that you use at the tip of the nail where the white goes to get that perfect french line)other than that the only other way you're gonna get it perfect is by going to a salon

I've had lots of experiance with this over the years at first I used the sticker guides and theses do work well however it will take more time this way and you have to be careful when you pull the stickers up so that the edges don't pull up the dryed polish on your nails. With practice I did my white tips freehand which works much better for me %26amp; is faster as well, I end up getting amazing results just as good as if you were to have them done in a salon, it does take patience and time though, good luckLadies help me out here! If you don't think you can get a straight line yourself, then use a kit that has the little stickers, you can also buy them separately if you have the nail polish already. Rimmel do a great white tip and rose polish. The brush is really then so it makes it easier to apply.

You can buy little white sticky strips (places like Wal-Mart or large drug stores carry them). Once you've put on your base coat and let it dry, you stick these white things on your nails and they act as a barrier so that the polish you're using for the tips doesn't run. They're pretty good and relatively inexpensive (a couple of bucks gets you something like 100 strips). You just peel them off when you've done the tip colour and apply your top coat. Good luck!

Can one do a french manicure at home?

why not? i did 1 yesterday! Can one do a french manicure at home?
yes, go to sallys beauty or like store and get a white striping brush or can get the white nail art paint with brush in it go to www.behindthechair.comCan one do a french manicure at home?
you can if you buy the kit from walmarts or kmart or drug store but you do have to have some skills in doing nails to make them look right. I've never had much success with doing it myself.
yes just buy an at home manicure set
Yes. In fact, you can buy a kit with the stencils and polish until you get the hang of doing it freehand.
    Of course, its easy.
yes you can purchase the kit from a store and you can do it wherever you want.
Yes there are kits at any drug store or target where ever, but until you are proficient it can be difficult especially to do your right hand (if your right handed) Practice makes perfect. Good luck!!
Yes, you can, but I agree with the answers above such as Rayne's--you can't do it fast, easy, and flawless the very first time. If you buy a decent kit, though, it will guide you through it, have plenty of product (and you might want to get an orangewood stick, plus one of those ';pens'; that correct bits of polish in the wrong places). Take your time and get the hang of it--it does take practice, but unless you have never used nail polish before or something (which I doubt) after a few times, you'll get it down! Oh-and do make sure to follow the directions (if the directions are vague or half-***, get a kit that is either ';for beginners'; or just one with more info) to the letter. I tried 'getting creative' and/or skipping a step, and you'll just end up having to start all over, and wasting product. I found out the hard way! Have fun. For some reason, whenever I get a French Manicure in a salon (though I have acrylics) I end up having to touch it up at home, plus plenty of salons REALLY hike up the price, so learning to do it at home will probably save you $$ and be a better experience overall. Have fun!

Homemade Nail Care Tips on Manicure:

Homemade nailcare tip on manicure - here you get simple method to do manicure of your own. Still you need to give care to each manicure step.

Things You Require for a home made nail care System:For your manicure, take a small bowl of warm, soapy water. A small hand towel, a nail file, cotton wool, coconut oil for moisturizing, nail polish remover, and polish. It is much nicer to prefer pink and pearlised shades, for the daytime. Nail polish is best applied before you go to bed so that you do not have to worry about badly kept nails in the morning.

Purple, violet and other dark shades, are a bit too extreme for formal dressing, but if you find that they suit your personality, as a lady with a mind of her own, please go ahead! After all, individual tastes, differ.

Manicure Tip: 1. First, remove your older nail polish and then file your nails. Long nails are best suited to people with long slim fingers, and if you have short, sturdy fingers, please make sure that your nails are shaped to an oval, and not more than 1/16th of an inch past the fingertip.

Manicure Tip: 2. Next, soak your hands in the soapy water, for 2 minutes. Press back the cuticles, very gently with your towel. They are very delicate, and need moisturising. To remove any soap deposit, wipe your nails again with nail polish remover.

Manicure Tip: 3. Apply a base coat, beginning with the thumb. Base coats are normally transparent nail polishes, which are either strengtheners, or just present to stop the chemical products of the nail polish, to yellow your nails.

Manicure Tip: 4. After it has dried, apply nail polish. Use only 2 light coats, allowing the first to dry completely before applying the second.

Manicure Tip: 5. Finally, when the polish is completely dry, massage coconut oil/ Almond oil/ olive oil into your hands up to the wrist. A manicure once a week keeps your hands feeling good. As it is always preferable to use natural products, rather than expensive creams and moisturisers, go back to nature and every night, use a bit of milk cream, or milk as a natural moisturiser. A little bit of salt added to it will bleach your hands beautifully.

Home made nail care tip on manicure tells about using natural products. It is safe and profitable.

    * use the back side of nail cutter to clean the cuticles.

    * if u have a pumic stone (costs Rs.8in any store) or a scrubber. and scrub the inside of ur feet. dip in water and take out and scrub do it frequently.

    * doesnt need to be slippery or sticky. do not use soap and then scrub u wont be able to remove the dead skina dn clean teh feet properly. if u feel water has become cold. remove the dirty used water and add fresh fresh water and use it again.

    * after u have done put olive oil to ur hands and to the nail because it makes the nails strong and cuticles shine. and keeps them healthy.

wats the easiest way to do a french manicure at home? with a perfect line? How do i do a french manicure at home? ?
I do mine at home once a week. Just get some white polish, a clear top coat, a small paintbrush, and some acetone. Put the white on your tips(usually two coats), it doesn't need to be perfect. Then take the paintbrush and sweep it under the line, to make it even. This takes some practice to make it perfect, but you'll get the hang of it quickly. Then just take your clear coat, and put it over the top once they're all dry. This is the best looking french manicure, and it lasts long too. If you were to go get your nails done in a salon, this is how they do it too. Good luck!!!How do i do a french manicure at home? ?
    I use sellotape :)

Put it across the bottom of the white of your nail, paint it white, then when its COMPLETLEY dry, cut/peel the sellotape off and paint your whole nail with a nude coloured polish. Some nail sets even come with guides so you don't have to use sellotape like i do :P

First apply 2 coats of white polish. Let it dry in between. Then Use a fine brush and acetone. Slowly removing the white polish to create a happy smiley line.

Then apply a coat of base cost.

Apply 1 or 2 coats of light see through pink or beige polish or whatever you prefer.

My suggestion - Bubble Bath from OPI - a beige colour

or - Sweet Heart from OPI - a pinkish colour.

Or a pink clear polish and paint over your nails but not the white tip.

Or you can put clear on top and then Top coat then your done.

i then apply moisturizer and rub it in to my cuticles and massage my nails.

then take a q-tip dipped in water and rub over the nails so that their is no residue.

then apply a base coat of polish. let dry for a few seconds.

then apply one coat of polish carefully. (take your time) if you mess up dip a q-tip in polish remover and touch up the areas.

reapeat that step for a second coat.

let it dry a few seconds.

then apply a top coat.(i usually apply with a lot on the brush so it stays smooth instead of getting lines on your polish)

then blow dry with a hairdryer.HOw do I get a perfct manicure at home??
Use tape or something to put around your toenail so that the edges are straight, and it doesn't go onto your skin. Use a good nail polish (high quality).HOw do I get a perfct manicure at home??
get a french manicure set...works great!
Start by taking off the old polish. Lift the cuticles with an orange stick (wood stick you can buy at beauty and drug stores) or cut the cuticles if that is what you prefer. File down the nails to the shape you want and run some nail polish remover to make sure the nails are not greasy (otherwise the polish won't stick well.) Apply clear base, then two coats of the color, let dry a bit and finish with a clear top coat. To keep it looking fresh, apply a coat of clear polish every other day and use cuticle oil to keep it moisturized.

at Savons or Vons, they sell cheap self manicure kits.

If you don't want to spend money on that, use tape.

Just put a piece of tape under the tip and just paint right over =)

It's so easy and great! At home french manicure?
try some tape at the tip
They have the kits, buy them use the little paper thing like they say but change the colors! i did that once
I use the french manicure nail kit from Walmart. It has sticky things to put on your nail down below you nail tip. If you can get some of those at a salon or somewhere, they would work perfect.
have someone help u when your using your not so dominant hand to do the other and lay a towel under u alway have nail polish remover and q tips near u in case u mess up u can use the q tips on the parts that need to be fixed good luck
there are these little white stickers you can buy and you just put them on your nail and paint n front of the sticker, then peel the sticker off and you have a perfect tip!
I did it once!Just white!Theres a kit at some stores. They sell it cheap.
i have done this many times. u can get nail corrector at sally's. it is a small little pen. do the tip in you color in what ever design let it dry, then correct it with the pen. the most of pink is made to go the tip so you can see the color under. very simple!

I actually found out that it can depend on your skin tone...If you skin is pale ...you find that red dosent look so great...however if you find a dark navy blue...(like im wearing on my nails now)...this will look good on pale skin. Blue undertones in nailpolish compliment fair skin.

I hate red on my nails. but love black and dark navy.

site below in sources has my fav nail colors.Nails, at home manicure?
I think it's important to buy a good brand of nail polish to start off with because they last longer and are generally easier to work with. I recommend OPI although stuff like Revlon from the drugstore isn't that bad either. Begin by trimming and filing your nails. Do a base coat with clear first, it helps prevent your nails from getting discolored and makes the polish last longer. If you have a friend around, you might want to get them to paint your right hand if you're right-handed (or vice versa). Try to cover your nails using only a few big strokes, starting in the middle. Do two coats and finish with a clear top coat. If you get some on the skin use a q-tip with polish remover on it.

    for manicure follow these steps

    # Using cotton balls remove any old nail polish with acetone or nail polish remover. Next you want to shape the nail using a nail cutter or file which can be foudn in your manicure set.

    # Next take liquid soap or shampoo and add it to your warm water and soak your nails to help them soften. After you are done soaking the nails you want to wash them clean with cold water and dry them with a paper towel.

    # Next using cream you want to take your buffer and buff your cuticles with the cream. Using the cuticle pusher gently push the cuticle back.

    # Next you want to massage your hands for approximately 5-10 minutes. This will help increase circulation. Add lotion to hands to increase moisture.

  • At Home French Manicure Using Acrylics?

I have nice nails ;) and I only get manicures twice a year. I do my nails weekly using OPI polish. I recently got my first acrylic manicure (on my real nails) by accident. The lady misunderstood me and did it. I wasn't charged for it, but I love it! I had to get used to the feel of them and the thickness, but now I want them all of the time!

Is there any way for me to do this at home? The nail salons are always busy and I have a hectic work schedule. I checked out some sites, but I couldn't find anything. This used a little jar of powder and dipped the brush in it. Any advice? At Home French Manicure Using Acrylics?
I did try a kit from Sally's Beauty Salon at home a couple of times. I really was not as happy with my work as I was with the job at the nail salon. It also did not last as long. This is one thing that seems to be worth getting in a salon. Just my opinion. At Home French Manicure Using Acrylics?
are you talking about just the tips or the whole nail. cause you can buy fake nails at like walmart or a beaty store. They dont really stay on as long and sometimes it doesnt really turn out like you want to. I really think you should just wait and go to a nail place.
I think K.I.S.S. has an at home acrylic kit. It's not very hard to do if you follow the directions, and you get the hang of it after doing it a few more times. The downside is that these are fixed to your nails for an extended period of time, and they can trap mositure and bacteria. If you're blessed with nice natural nails, I envy you! They also hurt like crazy if you rip one off accidentally. The kits you found online are exactly what to expect if you want to do it yourself. The other alternative is buying the pre-made French manicured nails that you can glue on. These look very nice too. The trick to getting the nails to stay on longer is to dot the glue on your nail, and then apply the base of the fake one towards your cuticle and slowly lay it down. This minimizes any air bubbles from being trapped.

Whitening toothpaste rubbed on nails takes away yellowish coloring and brightens nails. Bleach and water or milk and water together create smooth hands and feet (because the acid in each eats away at dry skin)At home manicure?

    Home Manicure/Pedicure tips??

I have a lot of nail polish colors.

I can do french tips and polka dots well.

But I want to learn how to do flowers and other designs. I heard you can make designs with toothpicks. I tried but the tip is too sharp.

What else can I use without going out to buy a nail polish pen thing or anything? Or what can I do to make the most out of a toothpick while doing a manicure/pedicure?

Any mani/pedi design ideas? Home Manicure/Pedicure tips??

    Hope these work!
To do flowers I use a toothpick, but first I cut the tip off of the toothpick so that the tip is a circle. I've also used the tip of sharpened pencils as well.
i head that if you get a really small brush from the make up area you can draw with taht but it has to be really small and hard to, to work hope that helps =)

They have kits that work awesome!

Try Sally Beauty, that's where I got mine and it was like $9.
