I need to learn fast how to give a manicure any tips i am doing this for work in a nursing home?

i thought i would start by soaking fingers in a bowl of water but do i add something to the water, what next i am not allowed to cut the nails but i can have a go at filing

First--make sure you are not violating any laws. The most I believe you can do is paint their nails. If you're sure you can file go for it, but make sure you have a new, clean file for each person. File one direction, don't just saw willy-nilly, that can cause tearing.
